Friends – Here is one quick story about life transformation that isn’t captured in the CDC reporting…but is a GREAT testimony to us all working together.

We’ve all had times when we’ve felt like giving up. And, if not for the love and support from our families, friends, and communities, we just might have. HopeSprings launched a new Table on July 6th, 2017 with a Brother from AIDS Action Baltimore. This Brother has been through so much since his Table launched, but because of the love and support of his Table members, AIDS Action, and his clinic he didn’t give up and in fact, he started his brand-new job with a major worldwide sports company on Monday, October 16th.

In this Table’s first month alone, the Brother had surgery on his knee, became homeless, had his car repossessed, and discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest. His Table members supported him through the surgery, provided transportation to Physical Therapy appointments, provided shelter by housing him and connected him with other housing resources, spent entire days driving him to appointments, assisted him with getting his possessions out of his repossessed car, assisted him with finding a place to store his furniture and possessions and helped him address his legal issues. And now, 3 months later, he is employed by a major worldwide sports company.

Can you imagine what it would have been like for this brother if he didn’t have his Table for support? Or the support of AIDS Action through the referral? Or if he didn’t have his clinic?

Today we celebrate the 1 brother’s life who has been transformed this week.

I was on the table with the brother discussed above. It was good then, but it did not end well. Very complicated.

Thanks for your comment, Mary. And, more importantly, thank you for involving yourself in the life of this brother. Yes, relationships can be complicated and very challenging and we know there were some significant challenges here. We are grateful for how you and your Table leaned in and did all that you could to serve faithfully. We will be following up with you about your experience, as we always want to learn and grow. Thanks!
